Position Overview

Pure Storage is committed to providing best-in-class learning experiences for our worldwide seller community. We are looking for a strategic, dynamic, and passionate Senior Manager to join our Global Enablement organization and lead a team of learning experience designers who design and develop courses, curriculum, and learning journeys for our Global Sales Organization. 

 

This individual will be responsible for leading and influencing a portfolio of learning design and development projects that support strategic sales initiatives and go-to-market objectives, onboarding, and continued skill development programs across multiple sales roles, including sales, partner sales, and sales leaders. Additionally, this individual will be responsible for helping to shape our catalog strategy, while innovating and improving our learning offerings. 

 

A successful candidate will work collaboratively with Enablement, Sales, Sales Ops, and Marketing to plan, orchestrate, and manage the design, development, and measurement of strategic learning programs that lead to achievement of our company’s sales and go-to-market goals.

 

The ideal candidate is an experienced people manager who is passionate about learning and has a proven track record of delivering globally-focused, high impact courses and curriculum that achieve measurable business outcomes. A successful candidate will have strong interpersonal and organizational skills, with the ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively and cross-functionally, leading a team of direct staff to deliver relevant, engaging, and effective learning experiences.

Responsibilities

 

As the Senior Manager of Learning Design and Development, you will be responsible for managing the creation, evolution, and maintenance of Sales curriculum, which includes:

  • Leading a team of learning designers to develop outcome-oriented courses to support strategic sales initiatives.

  • Leading key initiatives and the team responsible for designing and developing role-based learning journeys and experiences to support onboarding and continued skill for multiple sales roles, including sales, partner sales, and sales leaders.

  • Establishing and driving the sales curriculum strategy while innovating, enhancing, managing, and maintaining a catalog of sales-focused learning offerings. 

  • Collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders to scope, plan, resource, and manage the design and development of courses released to sales audiences on a quarterly basis.

  • Managing team priorities, roadmap, workload, execution of learning design and development projects.

  • Establishing strong relationships with sales and ensuring sales validation, input, and feedback throughout learning design and development efforts.

  • Evaluating and refining the learning catalog strategy, identifying gaps and opportunities for improvement.

  • Establishing and evolving learning design standards, best practices, and consistent processes to ensure high quality and effective learning content, while innovating with the tools, technologies, and methods used for learning design. 

  • Analyzing the effectiveness of learning courses, curriculum, and offerings.

 

Qualifications

  • 6-8 years of combined experience in Sales Enablement, Learning and Development, Instructional Design, or Curriculum Development.

  • 3-5 years of experience managing a direct staff of learning experience/instructional designers and/or curriculum developers.

  • Exceptional communication, collaboration, and leadership skills. 

  • A passion for learning with energy and enthusiasm to motivate and engage others.

  • Strong business acumen and solid understanding of sales motions, sales process, and sales metrics. 

  • Demonstrated success collaborating with sales and cross-functional stakeholders, subject matter experts, and sales leadership to plan and manage learning development initiatives.

  • Ability to influence and work effectively with a wide range of stakeholders at all levels.

  • Strong team-oriented leadership skills, with the ability to  build rapport, collaborate, motivate, influence, and advise direct and indirect staff.

  • Experience with modern, innovative learning design practices, methods, modalities.

  • Experience with learning content authoring tools (Articulate Storyline360, Articulate Rise360, Adobe Captivate, or similar).

  • Experience in instructional design, criterion-referenced instruction, performance-based design, and experience leading and coaching on the design, development, and implementation of learning experiences.

  • Experience with assessment methods to measure the effectiveness of training to achieve business outcomes and significantly impact sales performance.

  • Experience working with Learning Management Systems.

  • Experience with general principles of graphic design is a strong plus.

 

Pay Range

USD $145,000.00 - USD $218,000.00 /Yr.

Salary ranges are determined based on role, level and location. For positions open to candidates in multiple geographical locations, the base salary range is reflective of the labor market across the applicable locations. This role may be eligible for incentive pay and/or equity.
