Position Overview

We are seeking a Tax Manager, reporting to the Senior Manager, Domestic and Global Tax Provision.  This position is an integral component of the corporate tax team.  The primary responsibilities include the US and global tax provision, domestic income tax compliance, state and local tax filings, R&D tax credit studies, tax notices and audits and general operations regarding any ad hoc tax related projects.

 

The ideal candidate must be motivated, organized, diligent, technical and analytical with strong  interpersonal skills, along with proven experience effectively managing multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.  

Responsibilities

 

  • Manage the quarterly and annual tax provision processes in accordance with ASC 740, including the preparation of US and global tax provision schedules, effective tax rate reconciliation, tax balance sheet accounts analysis, tax reserves, and SEC disclosures.
  • Ensure compliance with SOX 404 requirements by maintaining and assisting with documentation of worldwide income tax provisions.
  • Lead and manage the preparation of US income tax compliance through working with external preparers, preparing/reviewing work papers, and review of the income tax returns.
  • Manage the preparation and review of quarterly Federal and state estimated and extension calculations and payments.
  • Ensure accuracy and timely filing of tax returns and proper payment of applicable fees and tax payments in all jurisdictions.
  • Lead and manage Research and Development Tax Credits Study.
  • Support with responses to tax notices and tax audits.
  • Develop and implement procedures and automation to improve the tax function.
  • Assist with ad hoc tax projects as required or as needed.
  • Stay abreast of changes in tax legislation and advise on the impact of these changes on company operations and financial planning.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including internal tax team, accounting, finance, engineering, and legal, to ensure cohesive and comprehensive approach for tax projects and strategies.
  • Mentor and develop junior tax staff, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional growth.

Qualifications

 

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or equivalent; CPA or Master’s degree in Taxation preferred but not required
  • 6+ years of public accounting or multinational publicly traded companies tax experience 
  • ASC 740 knowledge, with experience in preparing and reviewing corporate income tax returns, provisions, and reporting disclosures for forms 10-Q and 10-K
  • Ability to stay organized in a fast-paced environment, prioritize multiple projects and meet deadlines
  • Strong interpersonal skills with ability to work effectively as part of a team as well as function with independent responsibilities
  • Ability to research, analyze, and understand complex issues
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of explaining complex tax concepts to non-tax professionals.
  • Commitment to self-improvement and process improvement
  • Proficiency in accounting software NetSuite, Microsoft Office Suite and Alteryx a plus.

USD $145,000.00 - USD $218,000.00 /Yr.

Salary ranges are determined based on role, level and location. For positions open to candidates in multiple geographical locations, the base salary range is reflective of the labor market across the applicable locations. This role may be eligible for incentive pay and/or equity.
